How it Works
Regardless of the municipality in which you live, every Long Island homeowner can participate in this program.
Long Island Green Homes makes energy efficiency simple and easy. Start by filling out our web form or call us at 800-567-2850. One of our trained Energy Navigators will pre-qualify your family and assist you in identifying rebates, discounts, financing, and ensure that you understand precisely what your household is eligible for. Our Energy Navigator will then arrange for your Free Home Energy Audit, culminating in a report of your home’s efficiency and a detailed plan for the improvements you can choose to have done to save you money and improve the comfort of your home.
At the same time a preliminary analysis of your home's potential for rooftop solar power can be made. If this seems possible then additional assistance can be provided.
Long Island Green Homes is here to help. Any questions or concerns along the way? They can be answered by one of our Energy Navigators. Call us at any time.
Additional programs may exist for low and moderate-income families. Speak to your Energy Navigator for information on programs for which you may qualify.

The Process
1. You tell us about your home
The first step is a brief conversation with a Long Island Green Homes Energy Navigator where you tell us about your home and any energy efficiency issues of which you are aware.
2. You receive a FREE home energy assessment
We will arrange for a certified Long Island professional who will conduct a comprehensive energy audit of your home to identify any efficiency, or health and safety related issues.
3. Post assessment
After the assessment, your certified Long Island contractor will present you with your home’s energy efficiency analysis and report. This itemized report will detail each of your efficiency upgrade options and how each option can improve your home’s comfort, savings, and efficiency.
4. Signing the contract
You authorize any or all of the work that you would like performed on your home by signing the agreement with your contractor.
5. Making your energy efficiency improvements
It only takes a few days to start the process of saving you thousands of dollars over the course of a year! You’ll enjoy all of the benefits that come from a home that is more energy efficient – comfort, savings on your heating and cooling bills, and a higher resale value.
