Our chapter is one of hundreds, and is focused on working for the passage of Carbon Fee and Dividend, the climate change solution economists and climate scientists alike say is the “best first-step” to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world.

The Long Island Association (LIA) is the leading business organization on Long Island. Founded in 1926, the mission of the LIA is to support growth, economic development and infrastructure investments on Long Island and to advocate for tax reforms and regulatory relief to improve the local economy and strengthen our business community. Seeks to do so while retaining a clean, healthy and safe environment.
Our mission is to unite diverse Christians to work together to improve the well being of Long Islanders and to promote interfaith understanding and cooperation. Provide emergency food, housing, medical assistance, transportation, chaplaincy services, disaster relief, and advocacy for a wide range of social issues, including affordable housing, adequate health care, the environment, social, racial and gender equality, anti-poverty, prison reform, substance abuse and domestic violence programs.
Since 1984, the Neighborhood Network has been the largest and most active environmental and public advocacy organization dedicated to reclaiming the suburban and rural character of community life on Long Island. By preserving our environmental resources; initiating efforts to employ clean energy technologies; and holding our governmental officials accountable by advancing reforms which set the highest ethical standards and keep the operation of government open to the public, the Neighborhood Network fills the need for professional advocates fighting for the common interest rather than special interests.

NYIT is committed to environmental sustainability in research and practice. Students and faculty have taken the lead in alternative energy research dating back to the early 1970s.
The Renewable and Sustainable Energy Center at Farmingdale State College strives to enhance public awareness of new sustainable energies through applied research and workforce training. We have had past partnerships with PSEG Long Island on our Smart Energy House and are actively looking for more partners to expand our programs and seminars.
The Sierra Club Long Island group is the Nassau-Suffolk division of the national Sierra Club organization, a not for profit, grassroots environmental organization with the motto “explore, enjoy and protect the planet”. The group does many things to achieve this including conducting outdoor experiences that are open to the public, holding regular public education meetings, creating and promoting conservation initiatives, promoting wise energy choices, networking with other organizations, endorsing political candidates, and lobbying.
Starflower Experiences is a local educational not for profit organization striving to help people understand and appreciate natural systems and to seek ways to live more in harmony with these natural systems and communities of life. In short, we want to improve people’s relationship with the earth; that means we strive to help people learn to live in more sustainable ways as well as care for and about our local natural places.
St. Martin of Tours Outreach Program provides many social services to the greater Amityville community including a food pantry, thrift store, employment program, citizenship program, transportation, Holiday Assistance program, and limited financial assistance to families in need. It also hosts blood drives and advocates for affordable housing and wise environmental stewardship of creation.
